This course is a nationally accredited course covering three units of competency within the
Conservation and Land Management Training Package. It provides participants with the skills required
to undertake weed control activities such as herbicide mixing and application safely and without
adverse environmental impacts, and to ensure weed problems are managed safely and appropriately
across operational areas.
Key components of learning are:
· Declared pest plants
·Weed Characteristics and Life Cycles
·Assessment of Weed Infestations
·Weed Control Techniques including Best Management Practice Methods
·Legislation
·Workplace Health and Safety including MSDS Sheet, Chemical Exposure, PPE etc
·Preparation for use of Herbicides
·Calibration and Mixing
·Transporting Chemicals
·Storage of Chemicals
·Records
After successful completion of the course and assessment, you will be able to apply for an Agricultural
Chemical Distribution and Control (ACDC) Licence through the Qld Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF)
Aims & Objectives
The ACDC Course is tailored to raise the awareness of the importance of proper weed management
and safe herbicide application and storage and handling. The training will also ensure staff are adequately trained to enable an
ACDC licence to be issued by DAFF.
